Meet Dagon
Registered name: Taz Hrvastska Dika
Dagon was the 2nd Tornjak we added to our pack. He is the definition of natural instinct. Dagon has needed very little formal training and somehow always knows exactly what to do. He is a fearless, gentle giant who loves a good snuggle and is always happy tagging along wherever his pack goes.
Despite what you’d expect for such an expert couch cuddler, Dagon is an impressive athlete. He has quietly made breed history time and time again as the first Tornjak to place in many dog sporting rings - dock diving, precision coursing, FastCAT all are stamped with his name. He has also proven himself in the conformation ring by being the first male tornjak to earn his AKC Certificate of Merit title.
Dagon has a sweet, gentle presence but can be formidable when it counts and his ability to tell the difference is the true mark of a Tornjak.

What does his name mean?
Dagon, pronounced “DAY-gon,” takes his name from an ancient sea god featured in the stories of H. P. Lovecraft. Lovecraftian writing explores dark, eerie worlds filled with strange mysteries and powerful, ancient beings known as the Old Gods. Dagon is one of the Old Gods.
As far as Old Gods go, he is one of the calmer ones, more distant than chaotic. He keeps to himself, but his presence is unmistakable. Tied to the deep ocean and its vast unknowns, he carries a steady, watchful kind of power.
To me, the name holds a sense of something immense and magnificent. Calm on the surface, but not something you should challenge. A fitting name for our devoted guardian!
