Meet Scylla
Registered name: Orsa Hrvastska Dika
Scylla has been an adorable ball of fluff with a tough spirit since day 1. She was the very first Tornjak Max and I ever met. She flew to us all the way from Croatia.
In true Tornjak style, she's a fierce guardian of her home and family. As an assertive female Tornjak, Scylla takes her guarding role very seriously. She is always watchful and quick to tell us when something is out of place.
While Scylla is naturally cautious of unfamiliar people, she loves as fiercely as she guards. She is incredibly gentle and affectionate with us and visitors she's deemed 'acceptable'. It's this combination of strength and sweetness that makes us adore her!

What does her name mean?
Scylla, pronounced 'SILL-uh', was named after a powerful sea monster in Greek mythology. The sea monster is most famously depicted in the Odyssey where she lives on one side of a narrow channel of water, opposite her counterpart, the whirlpool monster Charybdis.
Beyond my general fascination with mythology and love for unique names, 'Scylla' felt like an appropriate name to reflect the unwavering presence of this guardian breed.
